Become one with the fish. Learn about different fish habits, how your local fish are being caught, what it’s like to be a fisherman, and look inside a fish as we do a dissection. Invent your own fish aggregation device to see if you can attract the fish to us! Days will include visits to Winter Island, the Salem State Conservation Land, and a trip to Gloucester by train.

Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I, but it is our future. Design and build machines that will use the wind to make the Earth a better place to live. Figure out how to make the wind change direction, turn a windmill, help a boat sail across the water, carry bubbles up into the sky and more as we use engineering materials to bring our imaginations to life.

Six Flags has decided to develop a brand-new amusement park. They have hired The Phoenix Design Team to design and build a variety of rides for their consideration. Join the team and use your imagination and skills to invent new and exciting rides – a roller coaster, a water slide, what else can you think of? The sky’s the limit as we use engineering materials to bring our imaginations to life.

How do you measure up to the length of a blue whale? What would it be like to have a mouth full of baleen instead of teeth? How busy would the tooth fairy be if she had to visit a shark every time it lost a tooth? What would it be like to grow up as a sea turtle? Answer these questions and more as you learn about the extraordinary and demanding lives of marine mammals, sharks, and turtles as you explore Winter Island and the Salem State Conservation Land. Take a train trip to Gloucester for further research.
